EASY & FAST - HUNGARIAN, video installation, 2004
Video installation 'Easy and Fast - Hungarian' is based on the Hungarian language book with the same title.
This book was published five times from '62 up to '95, in Novi Sad, Yugoslavia. Although there were radical social and political transformations, during those 30 years, only the last edition of the book had a change: one single lesson, titled 'In the factory' became 'Businessman'.
These facts became a starting point for the storyboard of the video. Using the similar language expressions I wrote my own dialogues based on the personal but common place experiences.
Each of the five lessons shows different important situation and surrounding. All actors are foreigners living or visiting Hungary. All locations are frequently visited by foreigners.
This video was installed in the waiting room of the Immigration Office in Budapest, in June 2004. (Budapest, 1117, Budafoki u. 60.)
